Mite-Repellent Spray for Reptiles and Amphibians
A variety of mites parasitize reptiles and amphibians and can generally
be categorized as : the very common snake mite (Ophionyssus natricis) grows
to colonies of thousands and can lead to serious disease; the Entonyssidae
such as Mabuyonyssus infects the lungs and trachea; the Trombiculids
(chigger mites) feed on blood, lymph, and tissue fluids in their larval
stage; and the Prostigmatid mites infect only lizards. Most mite
infestations can lead to diseases or disease transmission, and generally
arise from poor husbandry such as unsanitized bedding, litter and cage
ornaments. C-DERM Mite-Repellent Spray was developed to repel mites, yet be
safe, non-toxic, and contain only plant extracts.

The formulation contains extracts of
Artemisia vulgaris, known for its natural insect repellent activity,
Verbascum thapsus known for its emoll-ient and soothing activity on
irritated skin, and a proprietary extract of the Delphinium plant known
for activity against mites and lice. The components are solubalized in
purified water with parabens as preservative. |
Application:

Hold the spray 6 - 8 inches away and apply
directly on the animal at least 2-3 times daily until no mites are
observed. If bedding and litter are not removed and sanitized, then all
materials, cage cracks, and crevices should be sprayed liberally. |
